Over the past couple weeks, a few wealthy liberals have spoken out and proclaimed that rich people need to pay more in taxes. This is the typical liberal/socialist class warfare tactic.
It goes something like this: the poor among us pay too much & the rich don’t pay their fair share. There are loopholes that they take care of. They have rich lawyers and accountants who make sure they do, but you can’t because you don’t have the same resources (money) they have.
So, without thinking, liberals loudly follow the same talking points. First, 95% of the taxes in America are paid by the top 25% wage earners. The bottom 50% wage earners? They pay no taxes and most still have tax returns every year.
Second, if these rich, loud-mouthed, non-thinking liberals really believed what they’re saying, wouldn’t they pay more? There’s nothing stopping them. In fact, as Chuck Woolery accurately shows, they can send money into the U.S. government anytime they want and help pay off the national debt. So, why aren’t they?
Last, Warren Buffett, in the video, hasn’t even paid the taxes he owes and is currently under investigation for this. Typical liberal hypocrisy.
They don’t really mean that all rich people should pay more. They only mean that rich, non-liberal people should pay more.
